Check the Condition & Performance of Your Plumbing Systems
Testing services are essential procedures designed to evaluate the condition and performance of plumbing systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. These services help identify potential issues such as leaks, blockages, or structural weaknesses, allowing for timely repairs and maintenance. Common testing methods include pressure testing, which detects leaks or weak points by monitoring pressure changes, and smoke testing, which uses non-toxic smoke to locate leaks in drain and vent systems. Both are valuable for new installations, aging systems, and addressing specific problems like sewer gas leaks.
Advanced techniques like camera inspections provide a visual assessment of pipe interiors, identifying blockages, cracks, or root intrusion in hard-to-reach areas. Leak detection testing employs tools like acoustic sensors, infrared imaging, or dye tests to pinpoint hidden leaks, while backflow testing ensures devices prevent contamination of clean water supplies. Flow rate testing measures water efficiency, diagnosing issues such as low water pressure. These comprehensive testing services ensure plumbing systems remain reliable, compliant, and free from costly failures.
Types of Testing Services We Offer
Pressure Testing
Pressure testing is a technique used to check the integrity and strength of plumbing, gas, or HVAC systems by filling the lines with air, water, or another pressurized substance. The system is then monitored for any drops in pressure, which indicate leaks, weak spots, or other potential issues. In plumbing, pressure testing is essential for ensuring pipes, fittings, and joints can withstand operational pressure without leaking. For new installations or after major repairs, it’s used to verify that the system is safe and fully functional before being put into regular use. It’s a critical method for quality control and safety in construction, repair, and maintenance across various industries.
Smoke Testing
Smoke testing is a method used in plumbing and sewer systems to detect leaks, cracks, or defects in pipes. It involves introducing non-toxic, visible smoke into the sewer or plumbing lines under controlled conditions. As the smoke flows through the pipes, it escapes from any openings, cracks, or illegal connections, revealing points of damage or leaks that might otherwise go unnoticed. Smoke testing is commonly used by municipalities and plumbers to identify issues in sewer lines, storm drains, and building plumbing systems. It is safe, effective, and can be done quickly, making it an efficient tool for diagnosing plumbing and sewer system problems.
Backflow Testing
Backflow testing is a critical process to ensure that backflow prevention devices in plumbing systems are operating effectively, safeguarding the potable water supply from contamination caused by reverse water flow. This testing is essential for protecting public health, maintaining regulatory compliance, preventing cross-contamination, and preserving environmental integrity. Certified professionals perform thorough evaluations of these devices, including assessments of pressure, valves, and seals, and address any issues to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the community’s water supply.
